The Sharjah Scout Commission hosted the International British Scout Leaders Skills Development Forum (Aqalimi) from May 2 to 4, 2025. The event was organized by officials of the British Scouting Teams in the UAE in cooperation with the Sharjah Scout Commission, with the participation of 200 leaders in addition to 6 training staff members and 5 trainers from the United Kingdom.
The forum aimed to implement a comprehensive training and qualification program for scouting units in British schools across the country, support the professional development of scout leaders and supervisors, and establish a unified training framework for all scouting stages. It also included joint meetings designed to exchange experiences, strengthen cooperation, and enhance leadership skills.
Key activities featured unified training sessions for scout leaders, presentations from visiting trainers sharing international experiences, and, for the first time, a combined training program bringing together both leaders and supervisors under one platform.
The event achieved its objectives successfully, fostering collaboration and developing the competencies of scout leaders. Participants praised the fruitful cooperation with the Sharjah Scout Commission and recommended continuing to organize unified training meetings for different scouting levels in future editions.
