The Adventurer Ali Al Habsi Team, in cooperation with the Ras Al Khaimah Scout Commission, Zayed Complex, and the Emirates Red Crescent, organized the “Intermediate Trail Hike” on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Wadi Tuqab in Ras Al Khaimah, with the participation of 50 scouts representing the Cubs, Scouts, and Advanced units from various schools in the emirate.
The activity aimed to instill a sense of adventure and appreciation for nature among scouts while introducing them to the diverse geological and environmental features of the UAE. It also sought to strengthen teamwork, responsibility, and outdoor endurance through scouting-based exploration.
The program started at 7:00 a.m. with a safety briefing by the hike supervisors, followed by dividing participants into groups assigned to different sections of the trail. Scouts were trained on environmental conservation practices and safety measures in mountainous terrain.
The event concluded with a traditional scouting campfire (Samar Night) that included cultural and recreational segments, songs, and competitions promoting camaraderie and scout spirit.
The Adventurer Ali Al Habsi Team emphasized that such activities foster responsible adventure practices, promote mountain exploration as a national outdoor heritage experience, and develop scouts’ skills while connecting them with their environment through hands-on learning and teamwork.
